Secret of Blue and Greens
The blue mutation, regardless of type inherits autosomal recessive and it does not matter whether the male or a female is the mutation. Results would be the same. Below are some examples for you to clear the concept. Few technical terms which will be used in this article are mentioned below so you would better understand what they mean.

PHENOTYPE: It means that what bird visually looks like.
GENOTYPE
: It means genetically what type of bird it is.
HETEROZYGOUS
: A bird which has two different alleles of the gene is called heterozygous. Like if one of your bird is green and one is blue, they are heterozygous.Hetero means different genes but same kind (Fischeri, Personatus and etc.)
ALLELE
: Genes come in pairs. Most genes have two alleles, a dominant allele and a recessive allele. If a bird is heterozygous for one of each allele, then the dominant would be expressed. 

Now we look into some pairing

GREEN X BLUE

100% Green split Blue

In this pairing all chicks will be visually (Phenotypically) green but Geno typically heterozygotic for blue or are green split blue.

GREEN Split Blue X GREEN

50% probability of Green

50% probability of Green split Blue

In this case only trial pairing will make it clear which bird get the blue factor.

GREEN Split Blue X GREEN Split Blue

25% probability of Green

50% probability of Green split Blue

25% probability of Blue

In this case it is hard to identify visually for 50% Greens split Blues and in aviculturist language they are possible splits.

In this pairing you will be sure of all the Greens are split blue
